The ZCS series size reduction system combines a shredder and granulator in a single space-saving system for the processing of production waste. The shredder is equipped with a 400mm diameter rotor using Zerma’s proven knife and knife holder design and driven by a high-torque gear drive. The large material hopper and powerful horizontal pusher allow processing of voluminous as well as heavier parts. The second section of the system consists of a granulator sized to work in combination with the shredder with an advanced control system ensuring smooth reliable operation. The ZCS system has been developed primarily for injection and blowmoulding applications, but can be used in other fields as well. Due to the compact design it is ideal for in-house recycling, where closed-loop systems reduce the risk of material contamination compared to traditional two-stage systems.
